[scribus] Creating a booklet from PowerPoint (or OpenOffice equivalent) presentation

Regarding the other tips you could also use www.pdfsam.org , written in
java, in works on both Linux and Windows platform, and it is capable of
rotating eg. all even pages.

note. Though the Pdfsam is Open Source and there is a basic version for
free download, you will only get full access to the code by donating
from 1€ and up... meaning the rotate function is only available in the
advanced version.
