[scribus] Compiling 1.5.0

I have two Linux partitions on which I attempt to compile 1.50. Both have 
missing library problems. 
On the Slack 13 partition it cannot find ImageMagick++ libraries which 
reside in /usr/lib. The compile  completes but some file recognition facilities 
are not present. 

On the Xubuntu (basically Ubuntu) partition it cannot find libtiff and it fails.
Libtiff is of course in /usr/lib. I have downloaded via synaptic every debian 
pqckage I can find with the string "tiff" in the title. 

If I knew exactly where Scribus 1.50 was looking for these libs I could link 
them there.
