[scribus] Business Cards from Scribus?

I am using linux fedora 10.
Scripts are simple bash shell scripts.
But you can use scripts under windows as well (good old .bat files).
psutils and ghostscript and pdftk are available as windows binaries also.

About multiple duplicate in scribus menu:
Yes, I know about it, but I faced with performance issues.
Scribus gets very slow if a lot of vector graphics included in the document.
Also, if you have your card designed using layers, its a pain to impose each layer separately via Multiple duplicate.

Another advantage of scripts: say you have to do several different cards and print it using offset press.
In this case you should impose different cards into the same page.
Uing multiple duplicate is impossible here, you must impose the cards manually (position them via X,Y manually).
With prepared scripts sitting in my ~/ folder, I just call the script with the .ps file, and imposition is done in a second.

Also, a golden rule when preparing publications: always use the same document size as the final product has.
Then you/your printshop have flexibility to impose it as needed for the print process.

Victor.

Certainly seems to be more than one way to 'defur a feline'.

Thanks!

I like the idea of using a script. What's your OS/Scripting language? I'm
running Vista and I'm thinking of using PowerShell.
