You also need -DLINUX -D_FILE_OFFSET_BITS=64 (if using gcc). This might
actually work even with a 32-bit executable (I've never done it; but it
*might* work). I do know that just compiling on a 64-bit machine is not
enough by itself to allow one to use files >2GB in size.

Check your compiler documentation if using something other than the GNU
compiler.
