I had never tried CinePaint before, so just now I installed it on my
Fedora 11 x86_64 laptop from the Fedora repositories. It is version
0.22-1.

It launches, but crashes immediately if I try to open a file or create
a new file. Launching it from the command line throws about a dozen
warning messages and errors, none of which I understand.

I don't even use the Gimp very much for my work and I doubt I'd ever
make use of the features that CinePaint has beyond what the Gimp
offers. I just uninstalled CinePaint.
