[scribus] Help! Shuts down before opening!

your first step may be to update scribus to the latest snapshot in the 
version you're using (for windows you should be able to download 1.3.6svn)

i guess that your problem is not that scribus crashes why crashes while 
starting but it crashes while opening a specific file.

if the problem persists with 1.3.6svn you may upload your file to the 
bug report system and see if someone can sort the problem out (you may 
mark the bug as private if it has content you don't want to be world 
readable)
