It depends if you plan to print CMYK or direct tone. If direct tone, 
then I usually make a new CMYK color with C0% M0% Y0% K100%. In CMYK 
thought, rich black is more intense. The amount of ink depends of the 
paper you're printing on (check the paper characteristics, or use ICC 
profile of the paper (it will automatically lower extra ink), or just 
ask the printer). For example, Arctic Papers makes their ICC profile 
available, for each type of paper.

I know in Indesign there was a functionality allowing to see extra ink 
(we could choose the amount of ink). It's very convenient to check a 
file before printing. Is this something you plan to implement in the 
next versions? (I have 1.3.5)
