Demanding apps incl Chocolate-DOOM, GIMP, Stellarium, Eclipse IDE w/ Java& C(++) toolchains, run fine. OpenOffice Writer produces the doc I was using as my first Scribus project, so I'm confident that my system is stable. I'm a Scribus newbie& I haven't yet found this one in any discussions that Google found. I haven't found any consistency in *when* Scribus crashes except newly selected text. Any ideas?
As far as printing, try checking Alternative Printer Command, and then
entering 'lpr -Pyourprinter' in the space. This is what I have to do in
Fedora. I think somehow Scribus is not interacting with CUPS properly.
