Hi John,
As another respondent has stated, all you really need is to look at
the output of svn info to quench your thirst for the trivia you seek

Please note that changes to the svn may not necessarily impinge on the
size of the binary that is finally compiled, look in the root
directory and you will see files like;
AUTHORS COPYING Scribus.app
BUILDING devel-doc scribus.desktop
BUILDING_win32_cmake.txt dtd scribus.kdevprj
BUILDING_win32_msvc.txt fparser.txt scribus.lsm
ChangeLog LINKS Scribus.pot

Changes in most of these files are unlikely to ever be reflected in
the compilation of Scribus.
I normally observe the output of 'svn up' If there is just a minor
change that I don't bother building, however if a file ending in, say,
cpp is changed, I will rebuild.
Basically, don't worry about it.
