Something like this.
We can expect to see, after the stable 1.4.0 is declared, updates to
this, such as 1.4.1.
Presumably, 1.5.0 will likewise, while remaining officially "unstable",
go through 1.5.1 and so on, up to the declaration of the eventually
stable 1.6.0.
