IMO the only change needed to the story editor is to revive the ability
to call the style editor from within the story editor, by reviving 
a choice to go to the style editor from within the story editor. I
understand that for some host (I'm guessing OS X) this is a problem.
But lots of things are problematic for OS X for various Open Source
programs. That is insufficient reason to deprive the rest of us. 


If the die is cast and the story editor is to be completely revamped
perhaps an option can be placed thus:
edit text
edit text (classic)
This would not require much code.  The current story editor is
already written. Some of us like the story editor pretty much as it is
now (or as it was recently).
