Hi greg, your answer to this thread is interesting, I have a similar 
problem at the moment.

I have some 22 Bible references with a super script text attached to 
them for referencing from the text pages.

Attempting to get them from Word or Writer losses the superscript. I 
have attempted to put them into columns and then a Screen shot of just 
that part but I loss quality when pasting them as a graphic. The idea 
of producing the same in the Open Office, calc seem to be a good idea 
but you say you do so in Writer.
