Just ran across this old message.

When I have been editing the manual, at times I have simply copied out
the html files, with its subdirectory images to some other location.

Inside the en/ directory where the html files are, is a file named
menu.xml, which is used as a TOC/linking for the manual.

It's not so hard to convert this xml file to html -- all you really need
to do is to convert the xml tags to valid html, and it will work. You
also need to set up a list structure. Once you link to the html files,
the links to images should be automatic.

If you want to be more creative, you could leave the manual in place and
adjust the links accordingly if you make a new menu.html file. This
would have the advantage of having up to date files when the manual gets
updated.
