You might be interested in a solution for SPIP (a CMS-framework) :
www.spip-contrib.net/Introduction-a-la-creation-d-un-livre
It was created for SPIP needs, so as to convert
http://programmer.spip.org coders documentation site,
into Latex http://www.spip-contrib.net/IMG/zip/ziptex.zip
and PDF book : http://www.spip-contrib.net/IMG/pdf/documentation.pdf
It can be used on any SPIP internet site using the same hierarchy.
It includes the management of all levels of titles, colorcode frames, images, tables, ...
All sources are availables to use and tweak.
Documentation for SPIP can be found english www.spip.net/en
and so is the example site http://programmer.spip.org/?lang=en
that is a more technical documentation for SPIP,
but there is no english documentation for the specific plugins
involved in the book production plugins.
