I have similar experiences with a CD printing company. Several times
they rejected the PDF's saying they were not okay, but up to this very
moment I don't have the faintest idea why not. When the CDs were
delivered, it turned out they had somehow removed (forgotten?) the name
of the group, our logo, on the cover. It was there in the PDF's I sent,
and in the proofs I received. Well, they fixed it and we had to manually
change the booklets in 500 CDs. Later we found out that while fixing the
logo, they managed to change a hyphen to an asterisk somewhere else in
the text of the booklet.

Given that they could (would?) not tell me what was wrong with my PDF, I
draw the conclusions:

 1. My artwork was OK.
 2. They are incompetent.
 3. Gonna find another CD printer.
