you are probably seeing the "preflight verifier", a tool that checks for 
likely problems before printing or exporting to PDF.
The warning about text overflow means that some of your text frames are 
too small for the included text. If you click on the relevant item in 
the preflight verifier window, it will be selected and you will 
immediately see the item which is causing the problem. You can enlarge a 
text frame so that all the text is visible, and/or you can decrease the 
font size, so that the text fits into the frame.

You can find more information about the preflight verifier in the online 
help (press F1), under Printing with Scribus-->Printing Tools (1).
