Seems I got the idea. All blocks but the block for a table can be
created by:
1) select a block type;
2) position the cursor;
3) click (push and release) the left mouse button;
4) edit the dimentions window and push <OK> button.
Here a block appears.
But not for a table. In case one need a table the item 3) is:
3) push the left mouse button, drag the mouse to the right bottom
corner of the table and release the button. For me this looks
like at least as inconsistency.
This is for:
-----
% uname -srm
FreeBSD 10.0-CURRENT i386
%pkg_info -Ix scribus
scribus-1.4.1_1 A comprehensive desktop publishing program
