I have been running Scribus fine for several years now with PCLinuxOS.

Current setup

PCLOS - Latest 2012 (up-to-date) KDE
Scribus Version 1.4.1. 30 April 2012, Build ID: C-C-T-F-C1.12.2
Using Ghostscript version 9.02

It works fine for me!!
