The good news is, that using the so called "Render frames" you can 
actually insert music sheets in your scribus document. When you define a 
render frame scribus calls an external program to render the image that 
goes into a frame in your scribus document. According to the wiki page:

Scribus comes with support for "Lilypond" (a free music sheet program I 
played a bit with and found quite good). However, you can probably use 
other programs, including the one John suggested.
