 Christoph,

You are talking about www.scribus.net [4] right? It looks absolutely
amazing! Nice work. If that is the level of work Carsten delivers than
he is more than a great addition to the team.

If I could however give one suggestion to improve on the website it
would be the download area. Currently this is just a list of links
pointing to sf.net. It would be great if one would able to get a
pre-selected option based on the visitor's browser (platform /
architecture) and if desired to change it manually. This is what you see
on a lot of software sites and helps determine quickly what needs to be
downloaded. It's like a service to the visitor so to speak.

Some examples:
- https://www.python.org [5] (just hover over download)

The code to realize this is pretty straightforward in PHP. If desired I
can help.

Regards, Darius

> On to the future of the website: The main reason I asked Carsten Liersch to design the new website, apart from his skills, was his modesty, accompanied by a general kindness and generosity, as Craig may have noticed as well. After a few email exchanges I already received invitations by Carsten and his wife to attend a Jazz concert in their house, and also bring wife and children with me, including the offer to stay over night, if need be.

Moreover, Carsten cannot only help with the website, but also create test files (or send us old test files from his company's archive) that would help with improving our (or DLP's) import filters. He has already donated a collection of PageMaker, XPress and FreeHand files to DLP for use in a test suite.
