i wanted to say that the user experience is not that good.
most people will just think that scribus is randomly behaving and won't
understand that there is a difference when dragging from the left or
from the right.
but i have to admit that it's a clever hack!
so, IMO, greedy and not greedy selections (or give it any other name you
see fit) are an interesting feature and i'd welcome a fast way to switch
from the one to the other (or from the preferred one to the other)...
but i'd prefer a "conscious" triggering by the user :-)
