[scribus] upgrading

Generally speaking, you should use 1.4.x for production work. Micro version
increments are the safe way to go. That being said, you should really
install 1.4.6 from official site. It contains only bug fixes and resources
updates. Any project should appear and expert exactly the same in both
1.4.5 and 1.4.6.

I should add here that it is always advised to work on copy of a document
whenever you update. "Collect for output" and open the Scribus file from
newly created folder in a new Scribus version. That way, if something goes
wrong, you will not accidentally destroy your previous work.

Use development version only when you really need some new feature from
there or if you are adventurous. It's not that hard to downgrade software
in a case of dissatisfaction.

Have I already said that you should never work with original file in
upgraded version of Scribus!? ;-) You will need originals in case you
have/want to downgrade. Scribus' file format is not backward compatible.

Happy layouting,
Vlada
