[scribus] printing symbols

Scribus 1.5.2 Windows 8 (64)

I defined a new object - a simple line (horizontal,  1 mm) on single 
page. It is visible and I can print it as well it is visible on the  
exported pdf.

Then I am converting this object to a symbol (Menu->object). Then the 
new symbol is not printed but it appears on exported pdf.

How to make it printable. I checked the switch in properties window, but 
the state has no effect.
