[scribus] Bad news/good news

My attempt to post a gzipped tarball of latest svn  on my website failed. 
When I downloaded the file to another partition I unzipped
 and untarred it but could not make it work...
  
 The good news; after two svn revisions that didn't work for me the latest  
revision 21854 seems to work OK.
  
 A question: why  must one always manually set color management on? Why not 
make that the default?
 I cannot think of a situation where I would not want it on. Fussy details 
like this can frustrate newbies.
