Check this out!

This part may have been inconsequential: I disabled my installed Chrome,
then clicked yes to install the "factory" Chrome.

Went to try www.scribus.net, Ok, then clicked the link to the wiki --
bzzzzt! Forbidden...

I then clicked the Settings widget, and noticed there was an item
"Request desktop site", so I checked that, Lo and behold, I could
connect to the wiki!!! Ta-daaaa!
