1.5.3, Anything special about mrdocs? I'll go look for it.
Thanks much. Will report progress.

You're going to have to compile from source:
https://sourceforge.net/projects/scribus/files/scribus-devel/1.5.3/
mrdocs has a fedora rpm, but it's for Fedora 25.
Check the wiki:
https://wiki.scribus.net/canvas/Building_SVN_versions_with_CMake
to make sure you have all the requirements, including cmake and qt5. Run
cmake with the options you need, then make install (you can run make,
then run make install, but in my experience simply running make install
will first compile, then install).

I thought it looked too easy. Could not figure out how to find the rpm. Got
involved with copr repositories and so on. So I will try to compile from
source per your guidance.

You're right, there's no Scribus RPM there. Other things, but no Scribus.

There are instruction on building RPMs at https://bugs.scribus.net/view.php?id=13341 if anyone wants to build and post them.

Hi,
I was just installing 1.5.3 because I needed a new feature (using
Ubuntu 17.04 and the scribus ppa to install the package scribus-ng),
and whenever I do something with a picture frame (e.g. just move it or
scale the image to the frame) I get the error messages
QPixmap::scaled: Pixmap is a null pixmap
QPainter::begin: Paint device returned engine == 0, type: 2
QPixmap::scaled: Pixmap is a null pixmap
QPainter::end: Painter not active, aborted
on stderr.
regards
Hadmut

Hi,
I'm trying to create fotobooks with scribus and just installed 1.5.3
to get this new feature where multiple pictures can be selected and
become something like a picture queue.
Nice and useful. :-)
However, there's still space for improvement.
- would be quite helpful if the picture selection dialog could
show whether a pictures is already used in the document do avoid
forgetting pictures or having them twice.
- The preview thumbnail appears only after clicking on the file
name. But then in this queue mode this means that the picture has
been added to the queue. i.e. you see the picture only after putting
it into the queue.
Would it be possible to have a file selector that shows thumbnails
for all pictures?
Or to show the thumbnail when just hovering ove a file name?
regards (and thanks!)
Hadmut
