My main task now is to transcribe a whole chapter of a training manual with loads of photographs etc - so I will keep you posted on how I feel about the whole experience. Eventually the manual will be, maybe 3 volumes of over 150 pages each, so a large project.

I can’t see how to easily centre an image within a frame or to auto size it to fit the frame. Is there an arrange palette ? To arrange objects (image or text frames) to be centred together either horizontally or vertically or left or right ?? Also when I drag to select a block of text, everything slows down and keeps moving after I have released the mouse - is this normal ?

For adjusting images, the quickest method is to right-click on the
frame, then select Image > Adjust Image to Frame and/or Adjust Frame to
Image. If you left double-click the frame, it goes into "Edit Contents"
mode, where you can slide the content around in the frame, and there is
a circle with a + sign in the center of the image.
Windows > Align and Distribute gives you a dialog for aligning objects
according to the page or each other.
I don't see this slowing down with dragging to select text...
Be sure to use the manual to help you find things, and above all, play
around... Especially play with right-clicking things.
