Gimp 2.2 was an update from FedoraCore3 (last weekend). Many 
improvements from the Gimp 2.0 ... especially the  LOAD PREVIEW which 
was missing in  GIMP 2.0 (on SuSE 9.2 anyway).
It works very smoothly with the latest Scribus release.
The CROP tool now has a shadow, which is nice.
