Scribus uses ghostscript to render eps files. Make sure it uses the latest
gs from Artifex (GPL or AFPL 8.56) and *not* ESP's ghostscript (which is
usually used by cups).
We generally recoomend Scribus 1.3.3.x over Scribus 1.2.x.
