[Scribus] pdf export

Hi,

I'm using Scribus 1.3.3.4. My understanding is that when exporting
to PDF 1.x with "printer" as intended output, the pdf file is in
CMYK, but is this still the case when exporting to PDF/X-3? I
generated a PDF/X-3 file recently and according to my printers
it was RGB.

Also, I have "simulate printer" turned on in Scribus but the pdf file
looks quite different - more like Scribus with "simulate printer"
turned off. Is this just because the pdf viewer can't apply the printer
CMYK profile even though the pdf file should be CMYK?
