[scribus] Changing style loses italics and super-scripts etc

Scribus 1.4.2

If I 'Get Text' from an .odf file to put into a text frame character styles
such as italics and super-scripts are retained. If I subsequently want to
assign a style to those paragraphs, say to change just the font size, all
those character styles are lost.

Do I have to go back to the original .odf and change the font size there,
then re-import it into the text frame? This is a problem if I have made
some adjustments to the text within the Scribus document - I have to track
these down and make the same adjustments in the original .odf before
putting it back into the Scribus text frame.
