I gave it a try with a new text frame, and this is what I found:

- When I create a text frame, and import the text from an OpenOffice
document (even with the box 'Import text only' ticked), I have trouble
changing styles. I can manually change the font and font sizes, but
just applying a paragraph style doesn't do anything.

- When I create a text frame, open the story editor, and open
OpenOffice and then copy and paste the text into the story editor,
everything seems to be fine. I can apply paragraph styles, and fonts
and line spacing change according to the paragraph style applied.

So it seems to be related to text import.

Best wishes,
Andreas
